Why I start with Medicare Supplements

I'm Jeff Spitler, a licensed insurance agent in Edmond, Oklahoma. For most of the people I work with, a Medicare Supplement paired with Original Medicare gives the most predictable coverage: you can see any doctor or hospital in the country that accepts Medicare, with no network and no referrals.

I'm appointed with many supplement carriers. Because Plan G is the same plan no matter which company sells it, the main differences are price, rate history and service, so I shop them side by side for you.

What I help with

  • Plan G vs. Plan N. Plan G covers nearly everything after the Part B deductible. Plan N usually has a lower premium in exchange for some small copays.
  • Shopping many carriers for your ZIP code, age and situation.
  • Turning 65. Your six-month Medigap Open Enrollment Period lets you buy a supplement without health questions.
  • Already have a supplement? If your premium has crept up, we can see whether you qualify for a lower rate elsewhere.

When a supplement isn't in the budget

Supplements carry a monthly premium. If that doesn't fit your budget, a Medicare Advantage plan can be a lower-premium option, and I'll walk you through how its networks and copays work. Compare the two.

You don't pay me anything to work with me. Agents are paid by the insurance company. Meet by phone, video or in person.

We do not offer every plan available in your area. Currently we represent 1 organization which offers 7 products in your area. Please contact Medicare.gov, 1-800-MEDICARE, or your local State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) to get information on all of your options.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Does it cost anything to work with you?

No. You don't pay me anything to work with me. Licensed agents are paid by the insurance company.

What is the difference between Plan G and Plan N?

Plan G covers the Medicare-approved costs Original Medicare leaves after the yearly Part B deductible. Plan N usually has a lower premium, and you pay the Part B deductible, a copay of up to $20 for some office visits, up to $50 for emergency room visits that do not result in an inpatient admission, and possible Part B excess charges.

Is Plan G the same from every company?

Yes. Medicare Supplement benefits are standardized, so Plan G covers the same things no matter which company sells it. Premiums, rate history and service can differ, which is why I compare carriers.

When can I buy a Medicare Supplement without health questions?

During your six-month Medigap Open Enrollment Period, which starts the month you are 65 or older and enrolled in Part B, and in certain other guaranteed-issue situations.

Can I change my Medicare Supplement any time?

You can apply any month of the year. Outside guaranteed-issue situations, the company may ask health questions to decide.

Do you offer Medicare Advantage plans?

Yes. If a supplement premium doesn't fit your budget, I can walk you through the Medicare Advantage plans I offer. I don't offer every plan available in your area.
