If you live in Moore and are getting close to 65, the calendar is the whole game. Here is how Medicare.gov describes your first sign-up window and when coverage starts, plus where a Medicare Supplement fits.
Your Medicare Supplement (Medigap) Open Enrollment Period is a one-time, 6-month window. It starts the first month you are 65 or older and have Medicare Part B. During it, a company can't refuse to sell you any Medigap policy it offers in Oklahoma and can't charge you more because of pre-existing health problems. After it ends, you may not be able to buy a policy, or it may cost more.
Your Initial Enrollment Period lasts 7 months: it starts 3 months before the month you turn 65 and ends 3 months after it. If you sign up for Part B before the month you turn 65, coverage starts the month you turn 65. If you sign up the month you turn 65 or later in the window, coverage starts the next month. If your birthday is on the 1st, Medicare counts your eligibility from the month before.
