If you live in Yukon and your 65th birthday is coming up, Jeff Spitler can sit down with you and lay out your dates on one page, so nothing gets missed. The first decision for most people is a Medicare Supplement, because the best time to buy one comes only once.
Your Medicare Supplement (Medigap) Open Enrollment Period is a one-time, 6-month window. It starts the first month you are 65 or older and have Medicare Part B. During it, a company can't refuse to sell you any Medigap policy it offers in Oklahoma and can't charge you more because of pre-existing health problems. After it ends, you may not be able to buy a policy, or it may cost more.
Medicare is individual: each spouse has their own Initial Enrollment Period and their own Medigap Open Enrollment Period, based on their own birthday and Part B start. If one of you is covered by the other's current job, that changes the timing for Part B. It's worth mapping both sets of dates side by side.
